What is a web app (PWA)? Why like that?

Eine Web-App (PWA) is Hive itself — put on your home screen as an app straight from the browser, no detour through an App Store. It is the same app, just with its own icon and in full screen.

Why like this in the alpha? You get in instantly (no store download, no waiting on review), we ship updates daily and it runs identically on iPhone, Android and desktop.

Vorteile: installed in seconds · always the latest version · push notifications · feels like a native app. Grenzen: on iPhone, push notifications only work if you installed it via Safari install; a real App Store listing comes later. The native iOS/Android apps are in the works — the web app stays the fastest way in.

Is Hive free?

Yes. Messages, voice memos and calls are free forever — no limit. You only pay for what eats real resources: AI generation (images, videos, read-aloud) and cloud storage. Free starts with 100 credits a month, enough to try it out.

What are Credits and Frequencies?

Credits are the currency for AI & storage — transparently priced, capped, and they verfallen nie. Frequenzen are several named chat boxes per contact (e. g. “Private”, “Project”, “Ideas”) — each with its own settings. Like threads, only per relationship.

How private is Hive really?

Your data is nie verkauft and nothing is trained on them — the revenue comes from storage & compute, not from ads. Messages are low-retention and can self-destruct automatically. Secret-Chats are end-to-end encrypted; normal chats are not (yet) — but there you get to use the AI features.

Wo liegen meine Daten?

In Germany & the EU — app, database and media run on German servers (Hetzner), not subject to any US corporation. On the paid plans you even choose per chat whether new media sit in Germany 🇩🇪 or the USA 🇺🇸.

Brauche ich einen Invite-Code?

Right now, yes — Hive is in pre-alpha and invite-only. That keeps the circle small while we build. Got a code? You get in with nothing but an email — no password needed.

Is there an app for your phone?

Yes — Hive can already be installed straight from the browser onto your home screen (web app/PWA) and feels like a native app, push notifications included. Dedicated apps for iOS & Android (App Store / Play Store) will follow.

Every message is a grain of pollen. Together they are an ecosystem.

A single frequency looks like nothing. In the big picture it’s the building block for everything — like a bee whose tiny contribution adds up to a huge one, and without it the whole thing collapses. Every frequency we catch, expand and remix can turn into images, videos, audio and translations — at the tap of a button. People get creative and connect with empathy, ohne Gatekeeping.

We are not building on algorithms trained on people to sell them, as effectively as possible, things they do not need. We believe: people are willing to pay for a exklusiven, sicheren Raum — one where their data is not sold. Everything that comes in goes into our own servers, more storage, the best security and cloud minds and the development of our own, privacy-first devices.

A young, AI-first team that long-term eigene LLMs built — and the world a little freer, fairer, more empathetic and more whole wants to make. So people can act, communicate and build visions freely, without bothering with the stuff AI can take care of.
